The Mental Skills Toolkit is a 5-step process that you can use to address any mental hang-up in soccer:

STEP 2: reframing the situation
STEP 3: taking action with an in-game tool
STEP 4: pre-game mental preparation
STEP 5: post-game reflection

Many players are often given well-intentioned but unhelpful advice when it comes to dealing with overthinking, lack of confidence in 1v1s, etc. You’re a good player, just be more confident! You need to get out of your head! Just talk more, and stop worrying about mistakes! Players KNOW they should do these things, but they don’t know HOW. Because of this they can end up stuck in a never-ending cycle of feeling inadequacy and failure after every match – THIS IS NOT A FUN PLACE TO BE. 

When players are faced with a mental block, change is not as easy as simply listening to what you are told you should do. Your mind is powerful, and in order to overcome certain obstacles, it requires a complete mindset shift which means coming at the problem from a different angle all-together. Which is exactly what this mini course series does. 
 
These lessons approach these problems differently and offer real, USEFUL advice that actually works. In these lessons, the videos alone can be game-changing because the conversations are all immensely impactful and offer an entirely new perspective by introducing new ideas that offer a way OUT of this place they’ve been stuck in for awhile.
 
This set of 5 lessons contains simple, practical advice and tangible tools to help players overcome some very common pain points on the soccer field. The 5 mini courses are short, easy to follow and give you actionable steps and things you can do THIS week to level up your game.

All content in these courses is my opinion and is based on what I have seen work firsthand with players on the field. The content is a combination of what I have learned from working directly with players both on the field and in a 1-on-1 environment, in addition to my ongoing education in the mental skills space.

 

Everything expressed here is my way of approaching these problems and how I would teach the content to players in a 1-on-1 setting. None of this information or these methods are either right or wrong, they are simply my opinion and way of approaching the problem based off of what I have seen work.

 

It is likely that there are pieces of this content that you will really like and resonate with, and other pieces that you will not. That is OK! My main objective is to get you thinking about things differently so that you can find what works for YOU. If how you get past the mental hang-up ends up looking different than what I talked about in this mini course series, AWESOME! It if looks exactly the same, AWESOME! All I want is to help you be able to HELP YOURSELF. With this yes, but also in the future with whatever adversity comes your way.
